Elevator To The Gallows

Julien Tavernier, in association with his mistress Florence, pulls off the perfect crime, with her husband as the victim. However, as he leaves the scene, Julien rather stupidly becomes stuck in the lift, where, despite his best efforts, he will be forced to spend the night. Meanwhile, his car is stolen by a young couple, Louis and Veronique, who, proud of their find, make off to the outskirts of Paris. They meet some German tourists at a motel, who soon clue into the truth about the stolen car. Once Louis grasps the situation, he decides to ee in the Germans' Mercedes. But when he becomes startled, he gets into a panic and fires the revolver that Tavernier had left in his car.
